Being alive is hard. When things get stressful or emotionally tough, we usually turn to socially acceptable escape routes to ‘help take the edge off’ the vulnerable feelings. Things like:

· Pigging out on junk food

· Buying stuff we don’t need.

· Social media addiction 

The list is endless.  

The relief you feel from using these escape routes is short-lived. You end up feeling worse and the feelings you are eager to avoid become the motivating force in your life.

Also, trying to keep these vulnerable feelings at arm’s length can be mentally and physically exhausting, robbing you of the ability to feel present.

WE ARE ALL FIGHTING A HARD INTERNAL BATTLE

Learning how to navigate this complex emotional territory on your own can be tricky, especially in relation to forming new habits of thinking and behaving.
